First Players

Jaedong, HerO, Life, MC, Jjakji and more to DreamHack Open Bucharest!

With just over two weeks until DreamHack Open Bucharest begins on April 26-27th, DreamHack along with EIZO, HyperX and Razer are pleased to present the first set of players who will be competing at Bucharest. Representing over 25 teams, players from North America, Europe and Asia will converge in Bucharest to compete for $25,000, 4,000 WCS points and the chance to qualify for the DreamHack Open Grand Finals.

Bucharest will see many of the biggest stars of past DreamHack Open events returning to continue to prove that they are the World’s best. Returning champions include HyuN of DreamHack Open Valencia 2013, Leenock of DreamHack Open Stockholm 2013, StarDust of DreamHack Summer 2013, MaNa of DreamHack Open Summer 2012 and two time DreamHack Winter champion HerO.

Challenging them will be some of the fiercest competitors the StarCaft II scene can provide. Two names to top that list might be Evil Geniuses’ Jaedong, and StarTale’s Life. Life was the runner-up for the DreamHack Open Winter Grand finals last year, and will be hungry for another big win as he is no stranger to winning major titles, but no doubt the bigger focus for fans may be on Jaedong, who after attending every DreamHack Open tournament in 2013, ended time and time again just shy of taking home the big win. Alongside them, the recent transplants to Europe of Golden, Patience, jjakji, First, YoDa and MC will be out in Bucharest in full force looking for blood.

As usual, Europe’s best will also be in attendence including Welmu, Harstem, ToD, Kas, Zanster, SaltTheWound, Lilbow, Morrow, ABomB, TLO, MaNa, Bunny, Firecake, NightenD and many more. The Lone North American currently in the line-up is none other than EG’s HuK, DreamHack Summer 2011 champion.
