Finland's national public-broadcasting company YLE will broadcast DreamHack Open, one of world’s leading StarCraft II tournaments, live from DreamHack Summer 2014.
YLE will be the first TV company outside Sweden to join SVT (Sveriges Television) to broadcast DreamHack Open, as they have broadcasting DreamHack events since 2009 and been the official Swedish Broadcast partner to DreamHack Open since 2012.
The Finnish broadcast will be available at yle.fi
and will include Ville "1mustfall" Tuomisto, Otto "Shasur" Turkki, Thomas "TonTTu" Tontchev, Teemu "wabbit" Hiilinen and Petteri "Porro" Pesonen, acting as in studio experts to discuss the games for the Finnish audience. YLE will also in co-operation with SVT offer the broadcast in Swedish.
“We’re extremely thrilled to have YLE covering DreamHack Open at DreamHack Summer that will be one of our largest DreamHack events ever.” said Robert Ohlén, CEO of DreamHack “YLE, just like SVT, is ahead of the curve and we love that more and more traditional media companies understand the value of broadcasting eSports for the young digital generation out there”
96 players from 20 countries will participate in the upcoming tournament at Dreamhack Open tournament, including the 16-year old finnish player Joona “Serral” Sotala. Read more about DreamHack Open 2014 here: http://open.dreamhack.se
